Albert Telfeian, M.D., Ph.D.
Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery

Dr. Telfeian joined the neurosurgeons of Neurosurgical Associates in January of 2004. He has also been appointed to the faculty of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center as an Associate Professor for the Department of Surgery and the Department of Pediatrics. He previously served as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Telfeian has published more than 20 articles and book chapters on Pediatric, Spine, and Epilepsy Neurosurgery. He was awarded the prestigious American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and American Epilepsy Society Research and Young Investigator awards.

Dr. Telfeian received a B.A. from Columbia University in 1987 and then earned an M.D., Ph.D., from Brown University’s School of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Telfeian completed his residency in neurological surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, fellowship training in spine and epilepsy surgery in Lausanne, Switzerland, and fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Epilepsy Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Telfeian is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Telfeian and his wife Jennifer have two children: Clark and Brooks. In his spare time, he is active in church and community activities with his family.
